Fuel consumption calculator
Measure how much fuel your car actually uses. Enter the kilometres driven and litres used between fills to see litres per 100 kilometres (L/100 km).
Enter a positive distance and litres used to calculate L/100 km.
How to calculate L/100 km
Fuel consumption = litres used ÷ kilometres driven × 100. For example, 36 L over 450 km is 8.0 L/100 km. To measure litres used, fill the tank, reset your trip meter, drive, then refill to the same level and use the litres added at that second fill.
A single fill is an estimate: pump cut-off, traffic, load, weather and terrain can change the result. Repeat across several fills for a more useful planning figure.
Use your result to plan a drive
Put your measured L/100 km into the trip fuel cost calculator, or plan fuel stops on your route with OTW. If you do not have a measured figure yet, browse Australian vehicle fuel consumption by model as a starting point.
